Miss Hawaiian Tropic International - Australian Finals!
The city of Surfers
Paradise, widely recognised as Australia's Playground, again hosted the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Australia Finals.
This phenomenon takes place in February every year at the
Islander Resort and it has been billed as Australia's wildest pool party. The Year 2000 event certainly lived up to the expectations and when the 24 stunning Miss Hawaiian Tropic Australia
finalists filled up the runway extending into the resort pool, it was standing room only for the huge and extremely vocal audience.
The finalists represented premier
entertainment venues and sponsors from all around Australia and they all had their sights firmly set on the coveted National Title and the all expenses paid trip to the Miss HT World Finals in Las Vegas.
The delegates spent a week on Australia's Gold Coast sampling
the best that the region has to offer. This included visits to major theme parks such as Wet'n'Wild Waterworld and attractions such as Ripley's Believe It Or Not. The girls also enjoyed high-adrenaline
activities such as Indoor Rock Climbing, the Bungee Rocket and the Fly Coaster.
Occasionally the fun & games were interrupted by rehearsals and official functions, but the girls did
their best to sample the exciting nightlife of Surfers Paradise as well as popular VIP guests at many of the top nightspots and restaurants.
At the end of the day, it was stunning Gold Coast retail assistant and model Danielle Fyfe, 20, representing Insane Boutique who
impressed the judges the most. Danielle was crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropic Australia 2000 closely followed by first runner-up Samantha Redman, 21, representing Fever Nightclub in
Surfers Paradise. Samantha also walked away with the Best Performance in Active Wear title. Second runner-up was Renee
Burnett, 20, representing Daisies Nightclub in Victoria. Perth model Bree Maddox, 20, was voted Miss Photogenic by the pageant photographers while Cassie Harmer, 22, representing Vegas In Paradise was chosen by the
finalists themselves as Miss Personality.
